Simple Vaazhaipoo poriyal


Ingredients


Vaazhaipoo / Plantain flower - florets of 1 medium flower

Onion - 1 cup chopped

Garlic - 20 cloves chopped

Ginger - 1 ½ tbsp grated

Green chillies - 2 chopped (Adjust according to spice)

Curry leaves - 1 sprig

Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp

Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp

Salt - To taste

Oil - 3 tbsp


Secret Ingredient

Fried gram powder - 2 tbsp heaped


Instructions:


1. Chop the florets and soak in Water + Curd mixture. This will remove excess bitterness from the flower.



2. Get the necessary ingredients ready


3. Add oil to a wide kadai. Add curry leaves, ginger, garlic, green chillies and onions.



4. Saute till onions are soft and cooked. After it is cooked, add Chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and give it a quick stir,



5. Add the chopped flowers, mix it well and cook covered for 10 minutes.



6. Make a coarse powder out of Fried gram



7. After 10 minutes, remove the lid and add the fried gram powder
