Easy Bread Halwa

Ingredients:

White Bread - 7 slices

Sugar - ¾ cup

Water - 2 cups

Oil - for frying

Salt - 1 pinch

Cardamom powder - 1 fat pinch

Ghee - 2 tbsp

Cashews - 5-6

Instructions:

Trim the sides of the bread and cut the bread into cubes.

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry it until it is nice and golden and keep aside. ( You can use ghee for frying instead of oil)

In the same pan add ¾ cup of sugar and 2 cups of water.

Allow the sugar to dissolve and bring it to a boil.

Once the water boils, add the fried bread pieces. The water will be enough to cover the bread pieces.

Cook in low flame until the pieces mix well with the sugar syrup until it comes to a halwa consistency (approximately 15 - 20 mins). Add a pinch of salt and cardamom powder at this stage.

Fry off cashews in ghee until golden and add it to the halwa.
