Ingredients:
Chow chow / Chayote - 1 medium
Curry leaves - A handful
Green chillies - 2 (medium spicy)
Coriander leaves - a few
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - as required

To Temper:

Oil - 2 tsp

Mustard - 1/4 tsp

Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp

Channa Dal - 1/4 tsp

Curry leaves - 1 sprig


Instructions:


1. Peel the chow chow, cut it in half and remove the seed inside

2. Grate the chow chow and squeeze out the excess water in the grated chow chow.

3. Heat oil in a pan, add urad dal to it. Once urad dal is golden brown, add the grated chow chow, green chillies, curry leaves and coriander leaves.

4. Saute on medium flame for 2 minutes and cook covered for 5 minutes.



5. Cool the mixture completely and grind it with salt to a coarse-fine paste.
6. Temper the chutney with the ingredients under the To Temper table
